Maintaining the Beard

Incorporate shaving soap and beard oil into your grooming routine.

Why Shaving Soap

Shaving soap is a valuable aid in the shaving process. First, it helps to remove the natural oils from the face this makes the hair more penetrable. Secondly, it is formulated to have a long-lasting creamy lather which softens the hair.  With the hair softened, the “slip” in the formula allows the blade to glide over the skin and remove the hair.

How to Use Shaving Soap

Shaving soap can be used like a bar of soap. Simply run the soap under warm water and rub it on your skin to create a rich lather.

Alternatively, you can use a shaving mug or dish and a shaving brush. Place the soap into the mug or dish. Wet the brush, then swirl it around in with the soap.  Apply the soap to your skin, moving the brush in circular motions to create a lather.

Avoid letting your soap sit in a pool of water after use. Your soap will last much longer if it is allowed to dry out between shaves.

What Beard Oil Is Not

Beard Oil is essential for maintaining a healthy beard growth. However, beard oil is not for beards. Beard oil is for moisturizing your skin. Moisturizing the skin beneath the beard hair helps prevent dandruff in the beard.

A quality beard oil will absorb into your skin without clogging your pores.  When your skin is well moisturized with a quality oil your beard will grow faster and cover up any thin areas.

Because the oil is scented, it will make your beard smell sensational!

How to Use Beard Oil

Start with a clean, damp beard. Pour 2-3 drops of oil into the palm of your hand. Rub your hands together spreading the oil to your fingertips.  Massage the oil into the skin underneath the beard to moisturize the skin and beard roots.

After you’ve moisturized the skin and beard roots, you may brush down the sides of the beard. Brush your hands down the front also and then brush your hands upwards from the neck to get the bottom of the beard.
